Cat No. 4 Tool-Bar

Designed to be used as a Tool-Bar for implements or to mount a dozer on a D4 tractor.

The rams aren’t the original rams but I believe they are Caterpillar because I have seen them on other Caterpillar equipment. All the brackets are there but there is no square tubing. The mounting trunions, in the pictures are the trunions that came with the tool bar. It was on a D4-D and they will also mount on a D4-C. If someone is interested in putting this on a D4-7U or 6U I have some trunsions that were on U Series Cat.

Caterpillar D2 5U Orchard

This 1951 D2 might not look that great but it is a well running tractor. Much of the undercarriage has been replaced such as the Rails, Pins, Bottom rollers, Top Rollers, and even the bar that the track frame pivots on. The pony runs good and has a 6-volt electric start. It has a strong aftermarket pump with a two valve remote.  All the original metal work is on the tractor and is in good shape. The clutches and breaks work great.

Serial #:  5U 7620

It also comes with a 7½’ wide John Deer Killefer Disk and a clod buster or ring roller.

Without the disk and ring roller, $4500.

1956 Cat D2-4U 7259. Factory 24 volt Direct Electric Start with glow plugs. Engine makes some oily smoke. Top seat. Straight machine. Under carriage is good. Comes with a Be Ge pump.

Caterpillar 28

This Cat 28 looks great. It has oak 4-by-4s bolted to the grousers on the tracks for use on an asparagus farm. It is very straight and can be show ready with a paint job and track guards. It was well kept and parked running in an insolated barn as part of a Caterpillar collection.

When Caterpillar stopped making the U series crawlers they stopped making the orchard model crawlers as well. However, in the central valley there was still quite a demand from nut and fruit farmers for orchard model crawlers. To meet this demand Caterpillar dealers would convert D4 C top seat tractors into orchard model tractors.

This is one of these rare tractor, complete with full orchard fenders. It is a D4 C Orchard Model crawler with 24-volt Direct Electric Start and a Johnson Bar, for quick forward and reverse in any gear. It is 60-inch gauge crawler (wide gauge). It is in good shape and was used in a walnut farm to pull a spray rig in the wet season. The clutches and breaks work good and the tracks are in good shape.

Cat D4 C

This D4-C is a 1962. The serial number is 40 A 4472.

The engine runs very good and starts easy.

The seats have recently been recovered.

The breaks and clutches work great although the steering clutches seem just a little sticky.

You probably know that this model is 24-volt Direct Electric Start. It also has an Oil clutch and Forward and Reverse shuttle (the Johnson Bar). This tractor also has a built in live pump.

Cat 2 Ton Crawler

This little Caterpillar Two Ton is in good shape. It was well kept and parked running in an insolated barn as part of a Caterpillar collection. It has all the Guards and is very straight.
